FPM leader MP Michel Aoun announced the electoral program of the Change and reform bloc for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Habtour Hotel in Sin el Fil Thursday.
Aoun reminded the Lebanese people of all the attempts to obstruct their ability to choose, especially the draining of all their human capacities
He said, “You stand today in front of a historic opportunity to enrich the parliament with new ideas and set it on a new path to reform.”
“You don’t have to ask for anybody’s opinion. The decision is yours and you have the answers,” Aoun said.
He added that March 8 in general and FPM in particular needs to win the parliamentary majority in order to adopt their prepared reforms and implement their electoral program. “We are pioneers of change and reform, but we still have a lot to accomplish,” Aoun said.
He also said that those who carry the slogans of sovereignty, freedom and independence have destroyed the state’s institutions and replaced them with their own corporations. “You have to choose change instead of renewal for the money ‘whales’, especially because they are the ones who put the country in its current debt,” he said.
“Let us ask the industrialists about the condition of our industry, and if they choose change or renewal. Let us ask the tradesmen about the conditions of trade, and the farmers as well, will they choose neglect again? Ask the employee, is his income enough to cover his monthly spending? If the answer is yes, then let them renew,” Aoun added.
He urged the people to ask the current deputies about the laws they have obstructed and ask the journalists about how free they were during that period.
Aoun said that Lebanon is at a historical crossroad, and the elections that the people in power are planning with their financial and “media” abilities are a big trap. “Do not let anyone convince you that those who have ruled the country for 19 years are capable of changing. If they could do it, they would have a long time ago,” he also said.
“Lebanese citizens, the elections are ahead of you. It is a rescue opportunity for you. Grasp it and make the change,” he added.
