The President of the World Council for the Cedar Revolution, Joe Beani, said on Thursday that Lebanon, “in spite of 30 years of war and occupations… it had never been part of any aggression on the interests of other states.”
He said that “The news spreading in the media about the activities of Hezbollah in Africa, Latin America and some Arab countries, especially Egypt, would damage the image of Lebanon and would lead to new sufferings for the Lebanese people.”
Beani also called on all Lebanon’s officials to not abuse their authority or overstep their given powers, especially when it affects Lebanon’s image of “openness to everyone, respect for others and their rights,” and reputation as a state that does not meddle in the affairs of others “under any circumstances.”
