Marouni says criticizing Sleiman is like launching rockets on Lebanon
January 16, 2009

Minister of Tourism Elie Marouni told the Future News on Friday that the slogans shouted out by demonstrators, who gathered outside the United States embassy on Thursday in Awkar, were like rockets, because “Lebanon will fall due to such slogans and critics.”

Marouni affirmed that President Michel Sleiman was not subject to any pressure and noted that the cabinet supported him.

these people that think that Lebanon can be sacrificed for Palestine are very mistaken, and the president is supported by all Lebanese fractions, i think it is time now to show that support. Michel Slaiman is the head of state and can't be targeted, especially for something that has no Arab support, and specially Palestinian cause. that cause has brought Lebanon a lot of wars, deaths and destruction, it is enough, Lebanon should be aside and even neutral in this "cause"
