Gheit criticizes Nasrallah attacks on Egypt
December 29, 2008

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit harshly criticized Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah on Monday for calling for mass demonstrations in Egypt to force the government to open the country's Rafah border with Gaza.

“Yesterday, someone called on the Egyptian people to take to the streets and create an atmosphere of anarchy. In other words, they want an atmosphere similar to the one they had created in their own country," Gheit was referring to Nasrallah but refrained from naming him during a press conference after talks with his Turkish counterpart Ali Babacan.

"This person also called on the Egyptian Armed Forces, but he does not know better," Gheit said. He added, "If you do not know, let me tell you that the Egyptian Armed Forces are there to defend Egypt. If need be, they will also protect Egypt against people like you.”

The people of Egypt have always stood by the Palestinian people and have always tried to help where it could, but the Egyptian regimes are the last to give lessons to Nasrallah, who is the first and only Arab personality to go as far as giving a good lesson to Israel. No one has ever been able to do that, not even Nasser. As for the liberation of Sinai by Sadat's army, we all know that this had already been agreed upon with the US who facilitated the matter.
