Future Movement MP Mustafa Allouch criticized a speech given by Hezbollah International Relations Officer Nawwaf Moussawi during a conference at the Baath University in Homs, Syria.
In a statement released on Thursday, Allouch said that Moussawi had disparaged the United Nations’ Conference for Interfaith Dialogue for including Israel and Saudi Arabia.
According to Allouch, Mousawi singled out Saudi Arabia for obstructing the dialogue in Lebanon. Allouch asserted that Saudi Ambassador Abdel Aziz Khoja worked tirelessly to bring about agreement in Lebanon.
“[There is] a big difference between the kingdom, which supports all the people of Lebanon through the state’s institutions, and another country that provides a certain party with funding and weapons, in order to make it stronger and create a confrontation between brotherly parties,” Allouch said.
Allouch, noting that Mousawi mentioned “the completion of the July War’s victory,” wondered whether the Hezbollah official’s “preaching” signaled the possibility of new “victories” in the future.
