Future Movement MP Jamal Jarrah said on Monday that the worsening security situation was hindering the issue of national defense strategy, which is set to be discussed in the coming national dialogue.
Jarrah said that the commission that is expected to be established by Hezbollah and the army to look into last week’s attack on a military helicopter would torpedo the dialogue.
Jarrah described Beirut as a city of resistance whose citizen’s deserved to be respected. He said that those who had invaded the city, in reference to the May events, were outsiders.
He added, darkly, that there were some who were distributing weapons throughout the country in an effort to spread sedition and destruction.
