Future Movement MP Ahmad Fatfat said on Friday that claims that Israeli agents might have been behind Thursday’s helicopter attack were true.
“We concur that those who attacked the helicopter must have been Israeli agents,” Fatfat said.
During a monthly meeting in the northern town of Deir Ammar, Fatfat said that the Lebanese people would not surrender to conspiracies, aimed at dividing them, because they still followed the values of slain Former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
He said that the movement had always believed in protecting the country and had supported the Resistance when war broke out with Israel.
“We will support the Resistance’s weapons if they are used to fight Israel, but if those weapons are directed against the people of Lebanon and their army, then we will consider them a terrorist militia,” Fatfat said.
Fatfat said that the national dialogue could lead to a new era in Lebanese politics based on honesty, transparency and reconciliation.
