Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s representative to the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, said that the Israeli Winograd Report on the 2006 July War was a “scandal for Zionists.”

“Hezbollah’s victory in the July War is the fruit of the Iranian Revolution and made a political earthquake,” he said.

He also noted that US experts acknowledged that American strategy in the Middle East reached a dead end because of the Iranian Revolution.

“One of the biggest achievements that we managed to accomplish by following the orders of Imam Khomeini was to craft an Iranian model of democracy,” Larijani said.

“We have managed to stand up and resist international pressure,” he added.

“US President George Bush tried during his Middle East tour to portray Iran as an artificial enemy that is trying to attack the whole region,” Larijani said.

He also said that Iran’s regional policy is based on peaceful living. “We are not trying to establish an empire,” he added.
