The Lebanese premiership’s media office said that the Winograd Commission’s final report over the Israeli war on Lebanon did not include the crimes and massacres committed by the Israeli army against Lebanese civilians.
The Winograd Report said the war saw a series of major failures, but that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had acted in good faith.
“The report did not include anything on the cluster bombs used by the Israeli army or the part of Security Council Resolution 1701 laying responsibility on Israel and the international community to implement Resolution 425 on restoring Shebaa farms to Lebanon through the United Nations,” the statement said.
“In spite of noting the Israeli army’s failure to achieve its objectives, the report calls on Israel to prepare itself for coming wars, as if it hasn’t learned anything from its failed aggression on Lebanon,” it added.
The statement also noted that while Israel is preparing for a new war, the Lebanese must understand that the best reply is its unity and cohesion.
