“The Lebanese experience has taught us that real security is linked to political stability,” said Interior Minister Ziad Baroud during the 27th Arab Interior Ministers conference in Tunis on Tuesday. 

Lebanon made significant steps [in security matters], which resulted in a remarkable decrease in crime rate as well as uncovering Israeli spy networks [in the country], Baroud said. He added that the world is currently facing different types of terror and crime.

Baroud also praised both President Michel Sleiman for his mediating role between Lebanese parties and Prime Minister Saad Hariri for the cabinet’s “successful work.”
