The Progressive Socialist Party and the Democratic Left Movement issued statements on Monday condemning the vandalism of the statue of former Lebanese Communist Party leader George Hawi, which is located in the Mosseitbeh neighborhood of Beirut.

Both statements called on the security forces to investigate the incident and punish the perpetrators.
