Following its routine meeting on Monday, Kataeb Party issued a statement voicing the importance of setting a rational agenda for the national dialogue’s sessions. The party also called on the national dialogue committee to set deadlines for participants to agree on the issues related to Lebanon’s defense strategy.
The March 14 alliance should convene a closed-door meeting to evaluate its accomplishments and mistakes since its formation in 2005, the statement added.
The Kataeb called on March 14 to continue to work for the Lebanese state to regain full control over its territories.
The party also expressed concern over the future of Lebanese-Syrian relations, adding that the Syrian intelligence agencies control the Palestinian arms outside the refugee camps in Lebanon.
Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced last week that he will visit Syria in April for a second time this year. Reports said that the PM will discuss with the Syrians the issue of Palestinian arms outside the refugee camps in Lebanon.
