Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun told OTV on Monday that Sunday’s March 14 alliance meeting at the Bristol Hotel was an attempt to revive outdated alignments.
He said that the gathering showed the “fragility of the alliance’s political foundation,” adding that March 14 lacks the coherence it once had.
According to Aoun, the Free Patriotic Movement’s current positions are in line with its 2005 calls to regain Lebanon’s independence and restore its sovereignty, in reference to the withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon in April 2005.
This comes after Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said that FPM leader MP Michel Aoun can claim to be one of the March 14 founders, but “the FPM leader no longer believes in the alliance’s principles.”
