During the preparations for his Saturday interview on Al-Jazeera television, Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt told New TV, “Politics aside, I miss Syria.”
Jumblatt admitted during an interview with Al-Jazeera television on Saturday that he had previously made some inappropriate comments about Assad “in a moment of anger and loss.” In 2007, Jumblatt called Assad "the dictator of Damascus... a savage... an Israeli product, a liar... and a criminal.”
He added that his son, Timor, does not currently have a political role. However, Jumblatt said that his son would build a role for himself on his own.
I do not own a house in Damascus, Jumblatt said, but added that his wife, Nora, owns an apartment that is currently confiscated.
