A leader of the Hamas movement in the West Bank, who was wanted by Israel security services for several years, has been arrested, an Israeli military spokesperson announced Sunday.
Maher Uda, 47, a founder of Hamas's armed wing in the occupied West Bank, was captured in the Ramallah region overnight, the spokesperson said.
"He had been on the wanted list since the end of the 1990s for his implication in a series of suicide attacks in Israel which claimed 70 lives," the spokesperson told AFP.
