The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) issued a statement on Friday that it appointed British national Michael Taylor as its new chief of investigation.
The STL’s former chief investigator, Naguib “Nick” Kaldas, stepped down from the position when his term ended at the end of February.
According to the statement, Taylor said that he is honored to be selected for such an important position. He also expressed his commitment to uncover the truth and help ensure justice.
“Mr. Taylor’s professionalism and expertise are very well established and recognized in the policing and counter-terrorism investigation communities,” STL prosecutor Daniel Bellemare said.
