French Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton and Finance Minister Rayya al-Hassan met on Friday during which they launched workshops to increase senior civil servants’ productivity.

Pietton said at a joint press conference held afterward that his country supports Lebanon in its effort to establish an effective and transparent administration.
 
He added that an effective administration would allow the Lebanese government to exercise its authority throughout the country.

Hassan, in turn, said that the cabinet is committed to enhancing the administration’s work as well as to adopting a mechanism to make the pending administrative appointments based on the candidates' qualifications.
