In a statement issued on Friday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFPL-GC) criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Thursday statement calling to quickly disarm Palestinian armed groups inside and outside Lebanon’s refugee camps.

The statement threatens the Palestinians and the security of refugee camps as well as risks jeopardizing Lebanese-Palestinian relations, said the PFPL-GC. 

“Abbas is trying to increase tension in the refugee camps and is paving the way for a new Nahar al-Bared battle,” he added.

Abbas is trying to extend Palestine’s crisis to Lebanon, said the PFLP-GC, who also called on the Palestinian factions to meet and discuss the possible negative repercussions.
