Pakradounian: No need to exaggerate discussions on US agreement
March 12, 2010

“There is no need to exaggerate in the media discussions on the US-Lebanese security cooperation agreement,” Change and Reform bloc MP Hagop Pakradounian told LBCI television on Friday.

March 8 coalition figures, including Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Fadlallah and Speaker Nabih Berri, have criticized former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora’s cabinet for allegedly signing a security agreement with the US embassy.

He also said that “it is shameful to offend President [Michel Sleiman],” in reference to the wave of criticism against the president when he announced the names of the national dialogue committee members two weeks ago.

Pakradounian touched on the possibility of reassessing the president’s powers, saying it should not jeopardize the powers of other positions.
