In an interview with Al-Manar television on Thursday, Speaker Nabih Berri warned that if reports are true that former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora’s cabinet signed a security agreement with the US Embassy in Lebanon, “then the issue is dangerous and would have repercussions.”
This comes after Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Fadlallah said on Wednesday that the cabinet signed the agreement amid political divide, referring to the late 2006 resignation of its Shia ministers.
“The Telecommunications and Media Commission will continue discussing the issue,” Berri added.
He also commented on the administrative appointments, saying that he is adamant about setting a mechanism for the appointments.
