An unnamed source told Al-Hayat newspaper in an interview published on Thursday that Riyadh and Ankara are keen on improving Lebanese-Syrian relations.
The daily also quoted the source as saying that as result of Saudi-Turkish talks, Syria decided against trying in absentia Lebanese, referring to those accused by former General Security Director Jamil as-Sayyed of perjury.
Damascus issued last year extradition notices against various Lebanese figures on charges of perjury against Syrian nationals and Sayyed, who was one of the four generals held in connection with the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and was released in 2009.
