Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel told MTV television on Wednesday that he is afraid that Lebanon would become a testing ground for Israeli and Iranian weapons.

He also addressed the national dialogue—which began on Tuesday—saying that his party would participate with “a very open spirit, since there are no alternatives.”

Gemayel also said that he requests President Michel Sleiman to direct the national dialogue in a way that assures the Lebanese people.

According to Gemayel, the national dialogue will face many difficulties, especially from participants sticking to their ideologies. However, he added that the Kataeb “have a strong and stable opinion.”
