Head of the Administration and Justice Commission MP Robert Ghanem told reporters on Wednesday after the commission meeting that its members discussed the draft municipal electoral law, which the cabinet adopted last week.
The Administration and Justice Commission has the right to take as much time as it needs to discuss the draft, he said, noting the government convened over a period of four months before adopting the draft law and transferring it to the parliament.
“Cooperation between the parliament and the government is compulsory,” said Ghanem, adding that it is unacceptable to have people believe the cabinet wants to implement reforms, while the parliament remains uncooperative.
