The Lebanese Democratic Party issued a statement thanking Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for hosting the Saint Maroun’s day ceremony in Syria, reported the National News Agency (NNA) on Tuesday.

LDP MPs Fadi al-Aawar and Marwan Abu Fadel attended the ceremony, added the statement.

The statement also mentioned last month’s Ethiopian airliner crash, commending the efforts of the Lebanese army, the navy, the Civil Defense, the Internal Security Forces and the Red Cross.
