Following a Monday meeting of Lebanese officials headed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri to discuss the January plane crash, Information Minister Tarek Mitri said that the search to find the crash victims’ bodies as well as the plane’s second black box would continue.
He also praised the security services for their efforts in the search and rescue operations from the first day.
The investigation into the crash will not be completed until the search operations are finalized, Mitri added.
According to Mitri, experts told him that it might take six months to analyze the information contained in the two black boxes. However, he added that he is not certain it would take this long.
“United Nations vessels, as well as an American vessel and other private ones helped find the black boxes,” said Mitri, adding that the ships were always following the signals from the black boxes.
