March 14 General Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid told LBCI television on Tuesday that the existence of Hezbollah’s arsenal in an independent Lebanese state, as discussed in Hezbollah’s political platform, is “impossible.”
There has not been a change in Hezbollah’s position since the issuance of its first manifesto in 1985 nor any effort to “lebanize” – make Lebanese – the party, said Soueid.
He also said that Hezbollah’s accusation that certain Arab states indirectly serve Israeli interests is “dangerous.” He stressed he refuses that the party define Lebanon’s position within the Arab-Israeli conflict.
