After meeting with Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan in Khaldeh on Saturday, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said that the implementation of the Ministerial Statement is more important than the document itself. He added that the Ministerial Statement on its own is not sufficient to guide the cabinet. 

Aoun also spoke about his relations with Arslan,  calling them “clear” and without “reproach.” He added that he visited Arslan to offer him “congratulations for Eid al-Adha.”

Arslan said that Aoun is a national political guarantee for Lebanon and the Lebanese and that everyone should benefit from his reform plans away from all sectarianism and confessionalism. Arslan also said that his alliance with Aoun “is a strategic alliance, and not a tactical one.”
